The construction of Kenwood High School's main building was started in 1967 but the attached or "Wing" buildings weren't completed until 1969. The North Wing houses the Physical Education area along with
the swimming pool. The South Wing houses the art, music departments along with the Auditorium.
During the years of our attendance, 1969-1973, there was no official football field nor
outdoor area except Shoesmith Park one block away. Principal Elizabeth Mollahand along with 3 Assistant Principals, Mr. Webber, Mrs. Spurlark, and Mr. Oliver helped guide this newly
built school! There were only 3 graduating classes prior to 1973. Working together these first four graduating classes helped to season Kenwood High School for other students to
follow.
